Well, I always thought it was Cedar as well but recently found out it is actually a Cypress Lawson Cypress to be exact. funny thing, it is also incorrectly called Port Orford Cedar... who knew?
Well, all of our cedars in this part of the world are false cedars. True cedars (genus cedrus) are only found in the Mediterranean and Himalayas. All of our "false" cedars are related... cypress, juniper, arborvitae... Even the Western Red Cedar is in the cypress family. So it's all relative I suppose.

Looks like a cedar!
Nevermind... I just noticed the title. It's a cypress.
