would it change you if you knew I was?
You know it is funny, right now, I really just want to find and buy a "Smoking Monkey". I realize that probably makes no sense to anyone but it does to me I guess. Sort of like reliving the diamond days in the bottomland. You know I missed the sweater girl last night. Too bad. Oh well, still looking to find a corner for me.

Sounds like you met someone, good.
I’ve met a lot of people, but no, the sweater girl is a reference to Ingrid Michaelson. I'm sure you have heard "The Way I Am" from her recording Girls and Boys in that t.v. commercial. You know... if you are chilly, here take my sweater cuz I love the way you call me "baby".
There is however 1 girl that has that mysterious thing that all my exs do, that thing I can’t quite put my finger on. That connection thing. Nevermind. Anyway, strangely we can’t even seem to get it together enough to go have a drink.
So for now, I have not yet met a “someone”. I suppose I could apologize for having high standards but what would be the point.
Nothing wrong with high standards, can't say that I don't have them myself.
Hopefully you will be able to find time to meet up with this mysterious girl, and hopefully she is all that you have been waiting for.
