It was a beautiful day for a bike ride thru the park.

Asking Amy

So last night I was asking Amy about Sandalwood (which strangely mimiced a conversation I had with Heather) and why it cost around $50 for a 1/2 oz. We discussed lots of things like over harvesting, sustainability and trendiness in the market. All in all it was an interesting conversation.

Hiking with Heather

In a attempt to get out into the woods this weekend, I tried to schedule a hike/camping trip with Chris. That inevitably fell thru due to complexities. So, in lieu of that, Heather and I decided to hike Tower mountain on Saturday. We enjoyed it enough that we hiked it again on Sunday in the opposite direction and brought a small snacky (a nice 3 bean salad and a crazy good coleslaw)picnic diner. Then we decided to hike Dishman hills on Monday. We got there at 9 and when we left at 1 the parking had overflowed into the street. apparently, it is a popular place. It is kind of funny, I have not had any aches and pains at all but this morning I am just really physicaly tired.
I have tried to map our path on acme but someone keeps changing all my marker points so I don't have a topo map to show you.

This was a beautiful little Gorge.

I always love the giant stacked rocks.

Allah and Bella.

Coming out of the trees.

Kinda makes me want to take up climbing...

Looking south across the Palouse.

Starting to head back.

Spokane Shock2

Went to the Shock game again with Debbie. This time we played the Boise Burn... In the begining it didn't look good but we pulled it out and remain undefeated. I still do not like the fact that two beers is $10.25.

Cloxdog

Well as some of you know, Chris, my brother is going to be hiking the PCT this year... I believe he will actually be starting on Sunday April 26th but I am unsure since he is now in California and I have no way to talk to him. If anyone wants to follow his progress, there will be regular updates made to his trail journal by our sister Miranda. He is supposed to handwrite his journal and mail it to her and she will update it. This is nice so those of us who wish to live vicariously thru his adventure can check it out.

Sleep

Well, been sleeping like crap for the last while now. Seem to wake up about 1am and can't fall back asleep till after 3. Lots of weird dreams. Jungle, Steel bridges that used to be wooden(strange to notice that. Must have been there before.), Shape changers, Witches, Protectors that don't seem to help at all, and people I don't know and don't seem to have any association with. Weird.

Garden

Well, I figured it was time to get the garden going if not a little late. So this weekend, I busted out the seeds and started to get this darn thing going. I have had some basil going all winter. Fresh Basil is the best. I need to get a container of Mint going. Here is my mini planting so far.

Please excuse the Spider plants in the top left, They were someone elses throw aways...

So these are the seeds I have going so far. Bok Choi, Sugar snap peas, Thyme, Basil, Kale, Mesclun mix, Swiss Chard, Green Onions and Cilantro/Coriander. The Cilantro plays double duty since I can harvest the seeds in the fall. I plan to get some Tomatoes going but only after Mothers day when I will not have to worry about frost anymore...

Mexican food...

Julieta is back... It has been 3 years since I ate 6 of her Tacos in one sitting with all the fresh salsa I could stand. There is also the threat of Sopa Albondigas and I am not complaining. But it may be death by good food.

Beware!

Watch out for hungry family members with knives...

Where the Wild Things Are.

Exciting dont you think?

Sacrifice

So, I sacrificed my ability to hike by loaning my sleeping bag to Woodworker and my sleeping pad to Cassidy. So it looks like I wont be cold and wet with Chris this weekend. I do kinda feel bad because 30 mph winds might make the newbies a little misrable. :) But hey they will be out living life and I won't. And yes, I know I am really a novice too.

Lori's birthday party.

So, Lori decided she wanted to go rollerskating for her birthday with about 50

family members and friends...

A funny thing with me up on these for the first time in 24 or so years...

Niece Josephine got in on the action.

As did nephew Ethan. Here he is trying out his skates...

After realizing I could still skate, I switched from the regular skates to speed skates. The problem was the left one pulled hard to the left and the right one pulled hard to the right and the shoes dug into my ankles so I made another switch and somehow I ended up on these.
Suprisingly I didn't do to bad.

All in all a good time was had by all including Lori even after she fell and bounced her head off the floor giving herself a black eye. She is fine though. She had an MRI and everything looked ok.

Spokane Shock

Debbie and I went to the preseason Shock game last night. Had front row seats in the end zone. It was a good game. We won. All in all a good time. The obese woman behind my head with the cowbell all night, not so cool...

Ethan

So I spent Saturday hanging out with my nephew Ethan. As you can see, he is a little ham for the camera.
